Bruce Allen - Architectural Painter

Brief History

I was born and raised in southern Ontario and I'm a graduate of Carleton School of Architecture in Ottawa in 1974. I have been an Albertan since 1976, living in Calgary, Peace River, and St. Albert.

What I do

Although I was a watercolourist for a lot of my career, I now find oils best medium to express myself. My paintings strive to make visual sense of our built environment. Over the past several years I have concentrated on Edmonton neighbourhoods as defined by the buildings, vehicles and associated flotsom and jetsom that comprises our daily lives.

I have recently retired from the public service to devote much more of my time to my art.
